National Day celebrations in school

A sea of little children in red and white, hahaha =p Nat really enjoyed his national day celebrations and his looong weekend with us as well.

Now that he's back to school this week, he's been crying every morning when we drop him off because he would rather stay at home. This is the first time we have encountered so many days of tears... Hope that he will get back to his usual happy self in the morning sooon!!! =)

Nat's progress in school

The teachers in school did a report on Nat's progress in school and it was good to see how he is doing in certain areas.

I'm glad that he is quite a good boy, and he gets along well with all his little friends ;)

One of the things that really light him up is music and that was what the teachers said too. He will be very alert and listen intently to sounds and music, even oldies that the grandparents play at home too.. hahahahah...

Besides music, he loves stories and "show & tell" is definitely a thing that he looks forward to every Thursday.

I bought this spiderman suit from Bangkok for the dear boy and he was sooo delighted, and kept bugging me to let him wear it. So off he went to school on Thursday a very happy spider man. Hahaha...

Note: I've decided to stop blogging from Nat's point of view and so from now on, Mommy will take over the blogging reins! =) I do hope to update more regularly now, so keep coming back to visit yah.

Toilet training diary - by mommy

Finally! Some consistent good news...

Our dear boy has been off diapers for 2 weeks now and glad to report that he is really doing well, except for the occasional wetting when he plays too much or drinks too much water and it is too late for him to go to the loo.

He still wears diapers for naps and bed time at night, but we'll get around to it eventually when he can go to the toilet all by himself.

I'm also really proud that our dear boy did a poop in the toilet for the very first time today!!! He was proud of himself too. *smiles*

The daddy and myself rewarded Nat with a set of Fisher Price Geotrex railway tracks for this milestone.

A sigh of contentment and pride from mommy. And also relief that we can buy less diapers now. MUAHAHAHAHA

I had a great time on Monday and Tuesday, staying at home and watching lots of cartoons! It was fun to be sick, but it's more fun to get well and I hope to go back to school school tomoro! Because I miss all my friends and teachers :)

Update from mommy

Nat is now 2.5 years old, another 6 more months before he hits 3! Time flies so fast and with it, comes many changes too.

Thank God that his terrible 2s was not so terrible, haha. The temper tantrums are also getting lesser as he learns that crying and screaming will not get him what he wants, although it does at times when we just give in for the sake of stopping the tantrum! =p

Nat is learning about the reward system too. It's easier to bribe him into behaving when he knows he can have a jelly/sweet/toy if he behaves himself. And he's also learning to compare himself with his peers especially if he has something (eg: a toy)and his friends do not.

He can carry on a conversation quite well now, and has started asking "why" and "how come"... Sometimes I get really exasperated but choose to look at the funny side of it. Usually the exasperation comes becoz I do not know how to answer his "why, mommy, whys"... =p

Nat loooves to sing and make up his own songs. It is hilarious, some of the things he sings and I have no idea where he gets that from! =p

And for the past couple of weeks, he has been coming to sleep with us at 5 plus am and he likes to sleep on my pillow next to me. If he wakes up earlier than me, he will generally stay quiet until I wake up. And I will be greeted with such a sweet smile. :)

I love school

I have so much fun in school everyday. We do many different things and I get to play with all my friends.

This morning, daddy packed my bicycle into the car, and we drove to Bishan Park with some bread to feed the fishes...

But we couldn't find any fishes at all in the big ponds... I was very very sad, so daddy and mommy brought me to the Botanic Gardens instead so I could feed the bread to the fishes =)

I enjoyed my fun at the parks today!!!

Show and Tell

On Thursday, I had my first show and tell. Show and tell means that I can bring one item to school and tell my friends and teachers about that item...The teachers told my mommy and dadddy that Thursdays are show and tell days so I must bring something to talk about each Thursday :)

So I brought my new drum which daddy bought me during our Bintan trip.







My teacher Jothi emailed mommy to tell her how I did:
