Gong Xi Gong Xi

Wishing everyone a blessed blessed new year!

I enjoyed collecting my ang pows and this year, I helped Daddy and Mommy to give mandarin oranges to the old folks =)

What a happy time I had because I could eat many goodies, get ang pows and have so many people say what a cute boy boy I am.. kekeke...

And yesterday, Daddy and Mommy brought me to the zoo zoo to see the animals as we have not been there for a while.

There was a nice flower display at the entrance and we saw this enormous NIU that is made up of yellow flowers :)

Daddy rented this stroller for me so I won't be too tired out walking. It costs $9/hr! Mommy said we will bring our own stroller next time becoz it is too expensive!

With daddy and the hopping hopping kangaroos

This is my favourite, the elephants! See them kissing with their trunks, heee

Reindeer, is that you???

(Mommy: Nat Nat insists that the deer are reindeers, especially the male deer with the antlers as he has a reindeer stuff toy which looks like it)

Eating yummy cheesy mice biscuits atop my daddy's shoulders!

Our family photo, a nice uncle helped us to take this photo. I am still eating my cheesy mice.. heeee =p

It's great to be in the N1 class and I love the activities that the teachers plan for us. It took a little while for everyone to adjust to the new classroom (we moved up to the 2nd storey!!) and activities but we're really enjoying ourselves ;)

Toilet training diary part III - by mommy again =)

The dear boy has decided he does not want to wear underwear and he prefers the diaper!!!

Over the weekend, he was steadfast in refusing to wear underwear so in order not to force him, the daddy and I decided to leave the toilet training for a while. We will bring him to toilet still, just that we let him wear pull ups instead.

He's happy with the arrangement so we'll go along with the dear boy's pace.

His teachers are also helping out by bringing him to toilet regularly and they tell me he will sit on the toilet, which he has not wanted to do at home so far! haha...

So... it's prob the end of the toilet training diary... for now at least!!! =)

Nat has been settling down quite well in his nursery class, I'm so glad. It will be a bigger challenge for him as the student teacher ratio is bigger compared to when he's in the tots class and of course, he will be learning a lot more new things for now.

We're definitely not going to start him on any enrichment classes until he expresses a keen interest in a particular area. Just want him to enjoy his childhood and play as much as he can whilst he still can! LOL...

Here are some pictures of him in his N1 class.

Playing with a bunny rabbit. He's in the orange tee-shirt:

Toilet training diary part II - by mommy

Yes, we had great news from Nat Nat's teachers today!

This boy surprised us in the morning when we dropped him off in school, he told me he wanted to go pee.

And in the evening, Nat's teacher emailed me to say that he did not wet his pants today and he would tell the teachers that he needed to go to the toilet if he felt the urge to pee.

Great news to share in our part II! I am soo happy and many thanks for the efforts by the teachers as I know it's not easy for them to take care of so many kids and to check if he needs to go pee. Worse if he wets himself and they have to go clean him up.

I am sooo thankful and happy. *SMILES*

Toilet training diary part I - by mommy

Well, it's been a few days since we have started to toilet train Nat. What can I say except that it's not an easy task and I sound like a broken record, as I tell this to Nat everyday many many times - " if you need to pass urine/pee/poo, you must tell mommy or daddy ok" or "Tell the teachers you need to go to the toilet and donch pee in your underwear ok" or"Nat Nat, do you need to go toilet and pee, are u sure u donch need to??"

And our dear dear boy will go to the toilet ... and say nothing is coming out... After a while, he will pee in his pants and come tell us to change another set of underwear!!!

I am not sure whether to laugh or to cry... =p

His teachers decided not to stress him out and just toilet train him for half a day in the mornings, for the rest of the day he will continue to wear diapers.

I'm wondering if he is too young for me to start toilet training as he still can't tell us when he feels the urge to pee. So we'll still stick to the routine for the week, if things don't improve, we'll wait a couple of months before we try again. I don't want to stress Nat out too, and it will probably be faster to train him when he develops more, and he can control his urges better. The daddy feels the same way too.

I am glad though that he loves to wear his underwear and he also enjoys going to the toilet. The highlight for him is he gets to wipe his penis with toilet paper, and throw it into the bowl, so he can see the paper being flushed down the toilet... LOL

In the meantime, we'll continue to let him use the toilet everyday, such as after he wakes up in the morning and before bath time. =)

And I hope there will be more improvements to report in Nathanael's toilet training diary part II - to be continued when the little one is ready to...

Toilet training

Mommy started to toilet train me today =)

I am so happy that I can wear big boy underwear, just like my Timmy Gor Gor. But the underwear gets wet when I pee pee in it, not like my diapers which will keep me dry. So daddy and mommy says I need to tell them if I need to pass urine, and they will bring me to the toilet!

Mommy: It was easy to get Nat to wear underwear coz he was really looking forward to it. He peed in his underwear for the first time but he did not seem to mind that he got wet... Just looked down and carried on eating his slice of apple! LOL... Lucky for us he was standing on the floor, so just a quick mop cleaned the mess up. Hope he will get the hang of toilet training in no time! =)
